FAQ Music Production, Mixing & Mastering

Music production can seem complex, but with the right explanation the process becomes clear and transparent. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions from artists, producers and creators.

What does a producer actually do?

A producer oversees the entire journey of a song: songwriting, arrangement, recording, editing, sound design, mixing and mastering – both technically and creatively. You get direction, vision, coaching and a final result that meets modern industry standards.

Why do you need a producer?

Because a good producer:

  • Helps you make clear choices
  • Defines and shapes your sound
  • Prevents mistakes during recording
  • Dramatically raises the level of your track
  • Makes sure your music is ready for Spotify, YouTube, radio and distribution

A producer is the bridge between your vision and a professional release.

What is the music production process?

The full trajectory consists of:

  1. Defining goals and target audience
  2. Songwriting
  3. Pre-production / arranging
  4. Recording
  5. Editing & post-production
  6. Pre-mix
  7. Mixing
  8. Mastering

Step by step, at your pace.

How do recording, mixing and mastering work?

Recording: performance and sound are captured in high quality.
Mixing: levels, panning, effects, punch, clarity, energy.
Mastering: the track is optimised for Spotify, YouTube, radio, vinyl and streaming loudness.

How much does a single production cost?

That depends on:

  • Song length
